The context

Make participation part of the argument.

The recovered portfolio describes copywriting and message development for Gwangju’s bid to host the 2015 IDA Congress. The materials connect a city narrative with a multidisciplinary and participatory view of design.

A bid has to explain why a place belongs in the conversation. Here the narrative brings design, local history, culture and participation into one frame, with language that can address an international audience.

The writing role. Bid copywriting and contribution to overall message direction, as described in the recovered account. The proposal’s visual design, architectural imagery and the work of the wider bid team are not claimed as Peter’s sole work.

A closer look at the craft

Build a theme that can organize the proposal

The recovered “Design Strata” framing connects layered, multidisciplinary and participatory design, rather than relying only on a list of venues and facilities.

Carry cultural meaning across

The source explores Korean words associated with one, a wider world and belonging. These are part of the narrative context, not a claim of general translation authorship.

Keep contribution separate from outcome

The archive discusses the wider bid outcome. This case presents the writing materials and Peter’s described role without attributing a selection decision to the copy.
